Great Pyrenees (long coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Baby : : X-Large
Mayflower and another young Great Pyrenees that we believe to be her brother/litter-mate were picked up by our local Animal Control Officers on the day before Thanksgiving. Both were injured, so were taken straight to the vet for preliminary treatment and vaccinations. After their stray-hold was up, Bluebonnet took custody of the dogs, and took them to OUR vet for further treatment. Mayflower had been picked up with a gaping wound in her abdomen, and the emergency vet simply stitched it up. During the stray-hold, the wound became infected, so our vet opened it up again, put in a drain tube, cut new, cleaner margins and stitched it up again. And of course prescribed a course of antibiotics. The infection has cleared and the wound is healing nicely. Mayflower is the sweetest girl -- very affectionate with people and playful with other dogs regardless of size or age. She loves to snuggle with her humans on the sofa, but will also share the sofa with another dog when humans aren't available. She has been in our chicken yard and ignores the chickens completely. Mayflower has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, so she is ready to find her forever home. If you think she sounds like the perfect addition to your family, please complete the application on our website at www.bluebonnetrescue.org.
