Johnnie Walker was in rough shape when he was rescued by a mother/daughter team in East Texas. They got him to the vet and took care of his medical needs, and gave him love, good groceries, and a safe place to rest. As he recovered, he made it clear that he really didn't want to live inside the house full-time. He likes attention from his humans, but they felt like he wanted/needed something else. They brought him to us, and we tested him in our pasture -- he acts like a natural livestock guardian, so of course we wonder if he might have been born and raised with livestock before getting lost and finding himself in need of help. Johnnie Walker is a young adult who has so far gotten along with all the humans and dogs he has met at Windsong Ranch, both male and female. He is living in a pasture with goats, one rescued sheep, and a family of longhorn cattle. He mostly ignores the barn cats. We haven't yet tested him with chickens. If Johnnie Walker looks like a good addition to your homestead and family, please read about our adoption process and submit an application here: https://www.bluebonnetrescue.org/info/adoption.
