Great Pyrenees / Golden Retriever / Mixed (long coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Adult : : Large
Bowie is a big beautiful boy who was literally thrown away by the first humans he knew -- they threw him out of a moving car. Luckily, some Good Samaritans picked him up, took him home, and started looking for a rescue. In spite of his difficult beginning, he has grown into a loving boy who gives kisses and adores getting tummy rubs. Bowie gets along with all the dogs in his foster home, including big dogs and little dogs, males and females. He plays enthusiastically with dogs who are similar in size and age to him, and is even a good play pal for dogs who are smaller -- he seems intentional about not getting too rough in his play with them. He enjoys playing in the yard, but prefers to sleep inside the house, close to his family. He has features that tell us he's definitely a Great Pyrenees mix. It's just really difficult to say whether he's mixed with Golden Retriever or possibly Anatolian Shepherd. His coat has a golden glow that makes us think Golden Retriever, but the shape of his head reminds us of some Anatolians we have known and loved. Whatever breeds might make up his DNA, Bowie is definitely a gorgeous dog with a sweet temperament, and he's sure to win you over the first time you meet him. When he's the only big dog in a home, he does show signs of being protective (as in, he will bark at unfamiliar noises), but when there are other big dogs in the home, Bowie is happy to leave the guardian chores to them. Bowie has an estimated birth date of 10/18/2014, so he's a young adult. He would do best in a home where he has another dog to keep him company, and where there is a big yard where he can run and play.
